Maddie Young has agoraphobia (the fear of open spaces) and is deaf, along with her older sister, Sarah. One night while sleeping, she wakes up to a masked man standing over her bed which she believes has come to kill her.
She screams for help, but no one hears her scream since they are asleep in other rooms or outside in the woods hunting raccoons with flashlights.
Based on a Stephen King short story, 1922 is a horror movie on Netflix Original. That tells the story of a farmer who decides to murder his wife.
The movie stars Thomas Jane as Wilfred James and Molly Parker as Arlette James. It also features Dylan Schmid and Kaitlyn Bernard as young Wilfred and Arlette.
Netflix describes 1922: A simple man with humble roots finds himself in conflict with small-town ranchers when they discover his plans to sell land acquired through inheritance.
7. Train to Busan
If you’re a fan of zombies, this is the movie for you. The story follows a father and his daughter traveling on a train from Seoul to Busan.
The zombie virus outbreak began in South Korea, and people must fight for their lives when an infected passenger boarded the train.

8. I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House
This film is directed by Oz Perkins, who also wrote and produced. The story is based on the Shirley Jackson novel of the same name, written by actress Ruth Wilson (Luther).
It stars Wilson as Iris Blum and Bob Balaban as Dr. Faraday, who live in a haunted house in Maine where they care for a young woman named Lily (Paxton) as she’s dying from cancer.
The movie is described as “atmospheric” and “shadowy”. There are some viewers saying it reminded them of Edgar Allan Poe’s work.

9. The Ritual
The film opens with four friends walking through the woods on a pilgrimage after one of them dies. They’re all in their late 20s, and they have known each other since their school days.

There are two major acts in this film, separated by an intermission, allowing us time to reflect on what we’ve seen so far.
